I am trying to do a cut sweep along a path which encircles a concave surface:
The desired outcome is to have the vertical surfaces to remain vertical after the cut. However, this is the outcome. Note that the sweep remains normal to the sweep path. I would like the cut to stay vertical for the entire 360 deg. Is this possible?

You can force the geometry to follow an orientation a few ways. One is to play with the "options" - start here, it is the easiest. The next would be to constrain your sketch profile using the Pierce relation:
I show one example of using pierce in your sketch - but now, looking at it, it might not work as I first imagined. Play with pierce - it definitely helps keep your profile oriented how you want.
The most powerful (and complex and time consuming) way is to construct and assign guide curves. I've found that my sweeps can be created 90% with the first two methods. It looks like yours can, too.

Use the "align to Vector" option in Sweep picking the "Axis1" - this should work for you.
