I'm sorry for such noob questions. I have googled and searched youtube trying to figure out. How do I model this? i can get the basic shape but can't get the void cut into it.
A revolve cut would be my recommendation (I am guessing it is a stepped hole). But you could also use a two step extrude cut starting from the bottom. Other ways: Hole Wizard.
Edit: Sorry J Mather and Tony. I made my suggestions before looking at your models. Chris, the attached models show what I was suggesting. One thought after looking at them is, depending on design intent, you could revolve both the outer and inner in one sketch reducing the number of features in your model.

Can you attach the *.sldprt file of what you attempted?
Here's a crude version
Ok, I can get that shape then revolve but how do I get the V put in it? Right now its just in the shape of the sketch
Here is were I am at
Ok I figured it out. I gave you the correct answer because I needed to know how to do it and not have it done form. I did another sketch after I made it a solid and then extrude cut. Thank you for your help. I'm slowing getting this.
Thanks. You should also have been able to use the models from J. Mather and Tony Cantrell; they demo'd how to cut the V.
