hello
I use solidworks 2014 with ATI Firepro V4800. I use the driver suggested by solidworks.
Sometimes, when i insert a body into an assembly, i see it black. another issue is, when i select a part from the tree, it is not highlighted into the model.
i just reinstalled the entire package. now i have 2 question:
- is it better to install the latest driver from AMD site and not from solidworks?
- how can i be sure i'm using that graphic card and not the Intel integrated one?
HI Andrea ,
you should always use the SOLIDWORKS approved driver as it has been tested for your version of SOLIDWORKS.
also are you using a laptop or a Desktop workstation?
a Laptop should automatically be using your Firepro card or there should be a setting in the BIOS for graphics priority.
if you are on a desktop workstation you should make sure your display devices are plugged into the graphics card in the rear of your desktop and NOT to the main motherboard. if this is the case then you are using your FirePro.
what SP of 2014 are you on? this could also be a bug from that release that was fixed in a newer release
