Hi, why suddenly sub-assembly contained "Copy of xxxxxx"? The user said he not do anything. User try to reproduce the problem but it is not easy. Any other possibilities? Thanks
You can create a copy of a sub-assembly or a part by CTRL select from the feature tree and dragging to the work space.
"Copy of xxx" sounds like the file was copied in Windows Explorer, and then pasted back in the same folder. Maybe the user did this and then inserted it into the Assembly?
While working in the main assembly was he trying to do anything with the sub-assembly, if you hold the ctrl key you can drag another pc or sub-assembly in, so if he moved quickly while the sub-assembly was highlighted and happened to click or hold the ctrl key just at the right time, he could have easily added another sub-assembly..
It sounds to me like the sub-assembly was made "VIRTUAL". This always APPENDS "Copy of..." to the original name.
Can you post a screen shot of the Feature Tree as Daen Hendrickson has shown.
This will make it easier to determine if the Sub assembly has become virtual or if there is actually a second copy of it in the main assembly.
Also, look at the Windows Explorer location to see if there are both the Sub assembly and a Copy Of the sub assembly as Glenn Schroeder suggested.
This will show if there is an actual Copy of the sub assembly or if it is a second instance in the SW file.
