Solidworks doing a double take when asking it to do a command

The last few days solidworks has been doing an odd thing......

Whenever I ask it to do something, be it a dimension change in a sketch, or delete a sketch element, or delete component etc etc it will execute the command, but it then jumps back to what it was, before jumping back to what you asked it to do. In the case of a dimension change for example, if you change a circle dimension from 100mm rad to 200mm, it will update to 200mm, then change back to 100mm, then change back to 200mm and stop there. If you delete something it does the same thing.

I'm not sure when it started doing it, but I suspect when I was off ill a few days a week ago, and my PC was left on. So I checked for windows updates and uninstalled the couple that were new, but this did nothing. tried various other things like graphics drivers and updating to latest service pack on 2016 but this hasn't helped.

Windows 7

SolidWorks 2016 SP5. I was on SP3 when it first started this.

Has anyone else seen this before?
