I have a plate with no of holes in a line. I need a custom dimension style to update automatically when ever the solid part changes. I'm attaching an image for better understanding. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.
You can also try to use a note tied to custom properties (No_of_Instances and "Spacing) and group it with the drawing dimension.
There is no way that I know that can give you the 7X quantity of spaces without editing the dimension text.
This is a work around that I would do:
First, understand that you can add dimension to a note, which links the value.
That should get you almost all the way to where you want it to be, lesser the automatically updated 7X.
Thank you Alin. The your method has solved 99% of my problem . Still there is one thing I like to ask. Every time I change the dimensions, the relative position of the note (which I linked to the custom property) and the dimension text is either overlapping or getting apart,
So is there any way to fix that.I am attaching an image of the problem. Again thank you very much for your help.
Shamik, this might be a bug with the group functionality. Please troubleshoot it with your VAR.
As a work-around, what about placing the note below the dimension line?
If View Position is locked the note will keep alignment with dimension text.
hi Vladimir. Thanks for your response. I have tried the method you suggested. But the problem still occurring.
ASME and ISO standards for documenting feature patterns don't work well with modern CAD programs and typically require manual entry. For this reason we elected to deviate. Attached is an internal MEMO addressing the subject.
