This is a YouTube drawing. I want to extrude this sketch. But it is giving an error message. How to fix the problem? Drawing and Part file is attached.
First thing I notice are dimensions in your sketch that are duplicates or not on the original.
I think a lot of issues can be avoided by making use of Symmetry.
Right click and highlight that area and hit delete, there is hidden geometry in the corner..
I managed to extrude it okay.....
Edit your sketch, then go to "Tools" - "Sketch Tools" - "Check Sketch for Feature".
See screenshot . I got a "coincident but not merged" error. I just deleted this line and redid it and it works fine.
What version are you using Derek? I wasn't confronted with any errors, I just unzipped it, loaded the part, selected "edit sketch" then "Extruded Boss/Base" selected the contour and voila it was done................
I'm getting paranoid now that maybe one of my settings for detecting errors has it's threshold set too low or something?????
I could have selected the contour to and it would have worked. When you select contour it extrudes since the gap / overlap is not within the contour selected you don't get an error.
Yes I see, without selecting the contour, I got the same line error as you did and had to delete and replace it. Interesting.......
How to find out whether it is "coincident or merged"?
Thanks for your help.
There is an open point in your sketch which you need to close and add some relations and then try extruding it
