I want to use routing to create formed wire parts. is this possible?
We make welded wire products and for the most part I have been able to use sheetmetal to make our normal 90deg bends on the ends of a wire that we use to make our decks. What I want to know is can I make more comples shapes with multiple bends (in more than one plane).
Also I would like to know if routing can export this bend data to our robotic wire bender. All of our complex formed wire shapes are hand programmed after much trial and error.
Attached are pics of the more complex types of shapes I am interested in.
I was hoping that routing could help with determining wire lengths, and enable exporting of the data to the robotic benders.
Suggest to use weldments for your design. Use sketch bend data for robotic wire bender.
If you will use routing to make wire bends it's going to be identical procedure to weldment. More complex though.
