When viewing a drawing background goes black.

When I am loading a part of an assembly the background goes black and the only thing I can see are red dimensions. Assemblies are max at 50 parts. I have tried to change views and turn off and on lighting and I have no luck. This does not happen on every drawing. I also do not have any other files open in SolidWorks. Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

System Specs:
Processor: AMD 64 X2 DUAL 2.2 GHZ
RAM: 5 GB
OS: XP x64 bit
Solidworks: 2008 SP5 64bit
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6200 512 MB

It looks like a video card issue. Check to see if you have the recommended drivers on SW site.

  If you are right and it is the Video card he won't find the driver because it is a GeForce card.

  GeForce cards are not reccomended for CAD.

    I know that. I wanted Kyle to discover that on SW site for himself so possible he could take that information to his employer and get a supported card.

  Do they have drivers that are ceritified that arent for the Quadro series cards?

    Thanks for the help guys. But, my coworkers computer is also having this issue and he has the correct drivers. SP 3.1 wiht 6 gigs of ram

        I was just there. Looking at buying a new graphics card. Quadro 570 most likely. But then I will probably need to move up my power supply as well.
