I have eight workstations that users are asking to have SW
2009 installed on. I have installed SW2009 on a few for testing (no
production files) to make sure there are no issues before going
live with all workstations (our CAD files are shared on the network
so we all need to be working with the same release).
When I do go through and install SW2009 on all systems, is it preferred to do an upgrade install, or a complete install and remove SW2008?
One issue I came across with installing the 2009 was the toolbox mapping. I didn't think it would affect the 2008 toolbox but it does. Fortunely, there was a backup (SWBrowser.mdbold). I have to map the SW2009 toolbox to a different folder to make both 2008 and 2009 functional.
Another question about administrative images: We have eight worksations with four different models (varying hardware), if we have SP issues down the road, will I run into trouble using an administrative image for installation or can it be controlled as far as which systems get upgraded and if a SP needs to be removed from a system or two?
