I have made several parts from an original derived part by inserting the original basic part into the new part.

However, when I edit the original, the derived version does not update unless I manually open the derived part, RMB the base model in the tree, select edit feature, and then OK. At that point the derived part will update.

So, I know the links are working, it is just the problem of convincing SW to get back from its coffee break!

At the assembly, where these derived parts are used, I've tried reguild,cntl-Q, opening and closing the assembly. And then also doing these steps at the derived part files.

So, far only the "edit feature" at the derived part level will work.

Any suggestions?
