Hey everyone,
I've been using Solidworks 2008 for a couple of months now after spending several years on Inventor. I just got a new desktop workstation and I'm having display problems. Specifically, the shadows look all jagged and/or fuzzy and the lighting doesn't look right. A picture is attached. The much less powerful laptop that I was running SW on before didn't have these display problems (although it was muuuuch slower). I've run through all the normal diagnostic steps with our VAR support people and no luck so far. I have the video card set to Solidworks settings.
Here are the diagnostic steps I've gone through so far (with no improvement):
1. In performance, checked both high quality boxes under "transparency".
2. Set "Curvature Generation" to "Always".
3. Set level of detail all the way to "More (slower)".
4. Switched to just one monitor instead of using two.
5. Checked for current video card driver (it already had the most current).
Here are my system specs:
Dell Precision T3400
Intel Quad Core 2.50GHz/1333MHz FSB/12 MB L2
4 GB DDR2 RAM @ 800 MHz
375W Power Supply
nVidia Quadro FX570, 256 MB dual DVI, PCIe
E2208WFP 22" Widescreen Monitors (2)
WinXP SP3
SW 2008 SP3
If anyone has any ideas I would be very appreciative.
Cheers,
Richard
