Within the plastics tool i can investigate the fiber orientation in an injection molding simulation. Is there any possibility the use the computed fiber orientation in thermal analysis (simulation tool)? Background is a students project to analyze the effects of fiber orientations on anisotropic thermal conductivity.
Although you can export a .POE file from Plastics to be used in SolidWorks Simulation, you will not be able to take into account fiber orientation because SolidWorks FEA does not support fullyanisotropic materials, only isotropic and orthotropic. The .POE file from SolidWorks Plastics only includes node & element coordinates, temperatures, stresses, and isotropic material properties.
