A bit of context:

I'm a self-taught electronic music producer (how I make a living) who's interested in learning/using Solidworks to design and simulate rocketships. Joined my community college engineering club and had asked around what programs they would suggest with this goal in mind, unanimously I got Solidworks as the suggestion.  So I threw in $90 for the student software and went right into the tutorials.

The main thing I'm finding difficulty with, is that though I'm having little difficulty figuring out which buttons do what, I have zero idea what the methodology is behind many steps.  For instance:  I haven't the faintest idea what a fillet is, or how one determines whether a certain section needs filleting.

Given my lack of understanding about the engineering/design methodology, what books and/or resources would you all suggest to me to help me get establish the fundamental knowledge needed in order to start engineering/designing rockets in Solidworks?

I do plan on attending a 4-year college next year to get a more formal education in the area.  However, if you guys think it's doable, I'd like to start teaching myself so I can begin getting my hands dirty designing in SolidWorks as soon as possible.

Thank you so much in advance!
