I am trying to do an external flow simulation on a large area. The area is too large for Solidworks “modeling limits” so I had to make the models to a 1:100 scale. On a full scale version of the model I am wanting a 30 mph wind speed. What would I require on the (1:100) scale version? The main goal here is to explore the wind reduction created by a porous media WindFence (windscreen.) The gas would be “AIR”. It has been a long time since I messed with similarity laws and any help would be appreciated. \
Bill, it is the Reynolds number thingy.
Similarity Parameters
Looks like you will need 3000 mph [not good] or 100 times the density.
Coarse basic mesh with a fine local mesh in the region of interest doesn't work? How large is too large? Just curious.
