So I've got this old file that's been on our server a while and I need to make a small modification to it, and I did. But in changing a flange length, the mounting holes disappeared. They are just simple extrude cut circles, and the extrusion fails and will not work. I tried every single option in extruded cut, I tried creating new sketches, no change in options results in anything other than the error "failed to cut body"
Anyone seen this before? Know a solution?
Christopher Sudlik That wouldn't have anything to do with the fully rebuild issue being turned off by default would it? Try doing a ctrl+Q when you first open the file. See if it will rebuild without errors.
ctrl+Q is always the first thing I try, it returned without errors. I even went to the features that should have caused the errors and edited them, messed with them just fine without the software coughing up so much as a warning.

I'm using SW2017.
I opened your model, selected the sketch & Extrude Cut worked straight away, without issues with several variations of options.
It'll be exciting to move to 2017 in a couple months, but I'm not moving on the first couple service packs after what happened last year.
I'm with you on that one! But then I thought a SP4 pack would be safe....then I read that EPDM was having some issues with 2016 SP4 and that pushes me out to SW2017 and something now. Although my corporate IT has been dragging their feet for the last..eh...8 months...and it looks like 2017 might be the next release. It just means another round of testing DriveWorks, SolidWorks, all our CRM integration tools, etc...oh well job security for another 6 months.
Found the problem by saving as a .stp and trying to open.
Apparently any surface error in the part does not necessarily show up as an error, AND any error anywhere on a part can make any new feature creation fail. If you run into a similar problem, carefully run over your part for possible surface errors or try to save as a step file and import.
