Just wondering the best approach to modelling a sheet of paper with one corner curled. Just like this...
how about sheet metal with a sketch bend
Thanks for the help.
Is it possible to control the curl so it is not just a constant radius? e.g. can it be a curve that decreases in radius towards the corner?
Using Sketched Bend in sheet metal is a quick and easy approach; however, if you want more realistic, then you need to use surfacing - see the attached file
You can play around with the sketches to get the shape you really want
Nice one Christian, I did think about surfacing, but thought modelling it in a way that the edges would remain straight, and the corner true when flattened would be difficult. The same could probably be said for the flex method!
For sure, model with Flex feature looks more realistic (industrial design) than sheet metal sketched bend
Surfacing is a little more work but has more control to the shape you want
I'd be inclined to try the flex tool. Recommend adjusting via the property manager, dragging the arrows ends up in a mess real fast.
Agreed ! Flex is also a good tool for this
