Create vault view on second drive

    Alexandre Gragnano

In my company, we have a vault that is mounted on the primary hard drive root by everyone.

So, every SolidWorks project has references to C:\VaultName\ directory.

I would like to keep this path but my primary hard drive is full.

      To solve the problem:

      • I unmounted the vault view (and delete all cached files and folders)
      • I assigned a mount point folder path (C:\VaultName\) to a secondary drive

Assign a mount point folder path to a drive

      • I tried to remount the vault view to the primary hard drive root

But unfortunately, SolidWorks PDM does not only check if the folder's view is empty,

it also check if the folder exists: "The folder C:\VaultName already exists"

Please, how can I resolve my problem?

      Thank you for your help.

Ok, I finally found the solution:

          • Unmount the vault view (delete all cached files and folders)
          • Remount the vault view and keep EPDM client off (right click on EPDM task icon, Quit)
          • Backup the "C:\VaultName\desktop.ini" file (hidden) and delete it (the folder must be totally empty)
          • Assign a mount point folder path (C:\VaultName\) to a secondary drive
          • Restore the "C:\VaultName\desktop.ini"
          • Relaunch EPDM (C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM\EdmServer.exe) client and sync some folders
