I am attempting to cut a notch in the edge of a part using a patterned cut. After placing the pattern I have decided to reverse the number of cuts. When I attempt to edit the number the pattern ALWAYS reverses direction of the pattern. It also appears to be maintaining the same spacing which is what I was really attempting to change. How do I go about correcting the direction other than deleting the pattern and doing it over?
I had same problem with an unconstrained circular sketch pattern, it always wanted to go clockwise. My 'hack' solution was to flip normal on the sketch plane. You'd probably have to create a new plane coincident to current sketch plane and change to it so the 'flip' only affects this sketch. Not ideal I know

I think I have found part of the answer which creates another one. I created another patterned sketch and this time it worked, and then I realized that it mattered which direction I was wanting the pattern to go.
When the pattern is created so it goes clockwise everything is great. However, as shown below, if the pattern goes counter clockwise it reverts to clockwise whenever edited. Which begs the question, how do I get back to the setup menu to alter the direction?
to get back to the property dialog for a sketch pattern, select one of the pattern instances, one of the constraints listed in its properties will be "patterned0" (0 is a counter, so may be another number). right-click on that constraint, and you will have the option to edit pattern.

I must not be seeing or understanding something. Here I have a pattern that will need to be reversed when edited. I have selected one of the instances and have, i think, a property box open. i have also right clicked on the instance and am not seeing any option to reverse the direction. Can you point me in the correct direction?

Confusion on my end here - I only now realize you're doing "Sketch" patterns not "Cut Extrude" pattern. I don't use the sketch patterns at all, just feature patterns. Is there an advantage of using the sketch pattern over a feature pattern??
in my personal experience, there are very few cases where sketch patterns are needed or prefered in parts or assemblies. we somewhat regularly use them in drawings.

Probably not if you know what you are doing. the parts I am working with have straight edges on either side of the radius and I was having a challenge getting the feature pattern to pattern correctly so I went to the sketch pattern and everything worked except reversing the direction.
I tried using a curve driven pattern, for the first time, which I thought would work best and could not get anything to work at all. Just need to practice some of this stuff if I ever have time to play I guess.

In your last picture select "Edit Circular Pattern" near the bottom of the RMC menu. Then click the great big "3d" looking arrow pointing at the rotation axis to toggle the direction.
