Certain TIF files give error when imported into solidworks?

Hello,

 

Some TIF files from our graphics designer work fine when imported into Solidworks as a decal, and others display an error. For example, the one I am trying to import will open fine if you select the file outside of Solidworks, but if you try to browse for a decal and select it, you get this error: "The data in the following image file referenced in the decal cannot be accessed:"

I have tried multiple versions of this TIF file across multiple computers, all yielding the same result. Thanks in advance.

Correct Answer

Hi Austin,

You'll want to check whether they're RGB or CMYK. Solidworks doesn't play well with CMYK.

EDIT,

PS, tiffs are generally high res files, great for brochures. You may wish to use jpg copies if your model(s) start slowing down.
