Im am trying to combine two bodies along a common edge. I have tried closed corner and some other features. I would like to create a bend along the common edges.
This part is 2 seperate sheet metal bodies
I believe if you add a base flange/tab feature that connects the two parts back together it will turn it back into a single body.
We have our fabrication shop 50ft away from our admin office so I have a different perspective than some on how fabrication will occur. I generally try and build the part in solidworks as it will be in made on the shop floor. So if we are machining a chunk of stock down then I extrude my stock material and then cut it. In the case of sheet metal parts I try and create it in order of operation. I would start with creating the initial "L" bend that you are trying to join then add each of the flanges beyond. I will try and make up a sample part shortly, SW2016 is all I have installed right now so hopefully you have that capacity.
Part file with bent profile, the bottom flange is not mitered as it will not unbend, reality sucks like that.
