I have trouble in meshing the space of a volute pump. I fill the inner empty space and then mesh the inner volute.
my question: how to fill the inner empty space and remove outer body?
for example: this volute
I made a Surface-Offset of all inner faces (select tangency works really well), Then cap the ends (3 Surface-Plane - just select the circular edge and select Planar Surface. Then Knit all these together and tick Create Solid. Finally I make sure only to have one body left.
I only have SW2016 so you might not be able to open my model.
cap the opening with 3 planes and run Intersect on the solid body and the planes.
If you use SW 2013 or newer, try Intersect. Watch how fast you can cap the openings, using the push pin!
