I want to know the files that are currently opened. One possibility is going to “Open Recent”. This shows past files as well. Is there any way to delete past files?
No, there is not a way to remove files from the recent list. However, if your goal is to see the open documents, do one of the following:
I hope this helps,
I also find it handy to bind a keyboard shortcut to the Browse Open Documents command (via Tools menu > Customize... > Keyboard tab). I use the B key, as it is easy to remember B for Browse. I find it faster than going to the Windows menu, and easier than the Ctrl+Tab type of interaction.
Idea is not clear to me.
SOLIDWORKS allows you to define your own keyboard shortcuts.
Instead of what Jim lists as #2 above (Go to the Windows menu and choose Browse Open Documents...) I use a keyboard shortcut (the B key).
Keyboard shortcuts can be assigned by pulling down the Tools menu, choosing Customize..., and then going to the Keyboard tab in the dialog box.
I cannot see to see any “Add” shortcut button.
Just type your desired shortcut into the Shortcut(s) column and click OK:
If you are like me and don't use many keyboard shortcuts, here is the location of that option on your screen.
The only way I know to remove the history list is via the registry (see attached registry key), but SW has to be closed first.
The key can be edited with Notepad to suit your version of SW.
