I am trying to do a parting split and I have tiny gaps between my parting surface and my solid model. I have tried filling them with boundary surface but it will not fill them. Why am I getting so many, and how can I fix them

You can replace the core/cavity surfaces, if you want it in mold split concept
Those are not gap but just image quality. Just change (increase) that and see the results.
Where do I get to that menu? And if they are not gaps why do I get a cannot knit message when trying to do a tooling split?
It's not sure what type of split you are trying
If you are trying to make a core/cavity, use mold tools
You cannot knit a solid with another surface (there is no surface for your main part)
If you hide your solid, it's all empty in the middle
One of the internal wall is still negative draft (moveface4)
I am trying to do a core cavity with mold tools and when I do I get a message "cannot knit sheets together" I do know the internal walls are negative draft. This is for a foundry pattern not an injection mould and I will be adding core prints and making a corebox parted differently once I get this split.
Actually I am not doing a core cavity I am doing a tooling split where I get the cannot knit sheets together message.
If you are trying tooling split, you need all there surfaces (core, cavity and parting)
This is what you get with tooling split
If you are trying to make only one side, you have to use cut with surface feature (need a full enclosed surface)
In your model, there are multiple surfaces (knit surface and offset surface)
That is exactly what I am looking for. When I try to do the split the solid disappears.
Hope this works
I have a zero offset surface of the outside a zero offset surface of the inside and the original parting surface. I looked at each of the surfaces with everything hidden and there are no missing surfaces/gaps but I am still getting a surfaces will not knit message.
I tried improving the image quality to max (just outside the red ) and I am still showing tiny gaps
Image quality setting is just for viewing (nothing to do with the geometry error, I think)
John,.. I don't see any problems or gaps when viewing your edges/surfaces,.. in fact, your current settings of .004 are pretty high (imho) and I can reduce it to .008 with no gaps... so, I would guess your graphics card driver maybe overriding what SWx is displaying?... most drivers have a option to allow the program (SWx) to take control or overide...or force a default with all programs.
Thanks I see what I did wrong now I created a surface of only the outside knitted to a copy of the splitting knit and a surface of only the inside knitted a copy of the splitting knit.
