When i try to measure an angle or distance between an edge of a view and a sketch line in drawing, use smart dimension, if i choose the edge, then it not allow me to choose the sketch line, opposite, the same, is it because of dimension setting in drawing or other issue?
Edge of a view does not exist as an entity to copy, or even to relate or snap to. They're usually vertical and horizontal, though.
Draw a horizontal or vertical line in the view. Drag it to near the view edge. The edge will expand unless you did not attach the line into the view.
Then, you still cannot dimension to a part edge. Convert Entities on the edge so that a line (or curve, etc) appears on top of it in the drawing.
Then, dimension the line to the line or an edge to an edge. I could not dimension edges to lines either.
This is because line is not attached to that view.
Select the line and do copy or cut. Then click on view and paste. And then you can do the measure/dimensioning as deed (like they've asked in the drawing exam )
Really!! great!! may u give suggestion how to measure between a point and a edge of the a drawing view? i did what u said, copy the line to drawing view,then it works!! but not between the point of the line and edge of drawing view.
