Hi there,
In essence:
I have a point located inside of a closed surface. The surface is non-uniform and consists of overhangs and areas not directly visible from the point.
I am am trying to find the area of the surface that Is direcly visible from the point, i.e. Areas where there is an unbroken line of sight between point and surface.
Application:
I have a machine that sprays water in all directions. It is located inside of a irregular shaped tank. I am trying to find the area of the surface that the water directly hits.
Thanks!
Do you have the "Irregular" Shape in a model??
If it's inside a tank you could split the tank, just add a configuration and a cut extrude, cut up towards the nozzle. From the tip of the nozzle project the spray pattern onto the shape and use a Split Line Curve, add a surface and then measure the area of that surface..
