I am on SW 2016 SP4.0
I want to create a linear pattern in assembly for 2 directions, using the same reference (e.g. I have created X axis and I want to pattern a component both to the right and to the left of this axis). In the pattern dialog box I select this axis for "Direction 1", move to "Direction 2" input box and try to click the same axis again, but now it gets cleared out from "Direction 1" box instead of appearing into the "Direction 2". If I try to select a linear edge of the model, instead of reference geometry "axis X", I get the same negative result.
It works good in part environment for both directions. Is this a bug? Or is there a reason for not allowing to do it? Does it work with older versions of Solidworks?
Are you not able to do this by selecting two edges like in attached video.
