2017 has added the option to use a 3D Connection Spacemouse.
Under user Interface there is the option for Camera or World Navigation mode.
I updated the latest drivers and still can't seem to get my 3D mouse to work in Visualize.
Make sure "3Dcontrol" is checked in add ins
That works for Solidworks but not Visualize.
I have just tested this on my end and it seems that there is an XML configuration mismatch with SOLIDWORKS Visualize 2017 SP0 and recent 3DConnexion drivers.
I am using 3DxWare 10, 10.4.7.
My tests have shown, that you should still be able to use the spacemouse in SOLIDWORKS Visualize 2017 SP0. It will however fail to open the 3DConnexion properties in order to customize your preferences. In this case, the following error message will be displayed by the 3DConnexion driver:
"No <CreateCfgInfo> element found in state file".
Can you confirm that this is the same problem you are experiencing?
If this is the case, please try the following steps:
1) Donwload and unzip the attached file SLDWORKSVisualize.zip
2) Make sure Visualize is not running
3) Copy (and replace existing) SLDWORKSVisualize.xml into %APPDATA%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg\
4) Start Visualize again
Does this resolve your problems?
I tried as you instructed but unfortunately it did not work. I do not get the CreateCFG error, I can adjust all buttons and speeds. The software just doesn't respond when I move the 3D mouse or click buttons. (works fine in Solidworks 2017)I am using 3DXWare10.4.7 and Visualize 2017
that is very odd. It is working well on my end using the same driver but 3DConnexion's SpaceNavigator.
Can you confirm that your camera is NOT locked?
1) Hit Space to exit Easy Mode
2) In Palette (UI control on the right hand side), go to Cameras tab
3) Select the currently active camera and make sure that the "Locked" checkbox on the top of the settings is not checked.
Yeah, unlocked Cameras was the first thing I checked.
I have this same issue, except mine worked the first time I used my software, then suddenly stopped. Not sure if it was something I clicked or changed or what, but I have tried for weeks to fix it and no luck. Any fresh ideas? I am on Visualize 2018 SP05 on Windows 10.
I figured out my issue, finally. I simply had to set the camera tab for "Perspective" instead of "Orthographic". It also help to un-check "Keep above floor" while you work. Not sure why it behaves this way, but it solved my issue.
