Hi. I need to project some points on a plane down to a cone under it. Any thoughts?
Use 3D sketch place points on cone (on surface) and along Z to corresponding points.
Are those points collinear to the Cone Edge??

That's what I was thinking as well, but then I took it as "Projecting from the Plane to the Cone" which would be a little different then going the other way... But maybe I'm looking at it wrong.
Yeah, this is the answer, as long as you have a reasonable number of points. If you have a large number of points, you'd probably have to do the math in excel or matlab or something then import them.
If your plane is not a standard plane so you can't use along-x, y or z I would create an axis from the pt and the plane and then you could use an intersection relationship between the axis and the surface for your 3d sketch point. If I had a lot of points to do and it was possible I would extrude a surface and use the edges as axes
Even faster may be using a split line feature on a copy of the cone face (offset surface with zero offset)
