We upgraded recently from 2015 SP5 to 2016 SP4. I am now having 6-8 crashes per day. Same models, system etc. I did a clean uninstall including registry entries and I have up to date drivers etc. Anyone else seeing this?
What is your OS status? I did not realize I had a hidden problem with my new install of SWX2016, but it turned out after I had upgraded to Windows 10 and everything was running fine I thought I was good. It turns out I needed to get a new driver for my video card. Then my SWX ran just fine. This might not be your problem, but then again, my problem did not present itself as a video problem either.
im still running windows 7 . Nothing changed except SW2016.
(Actually, I need an emoticon for head scratching!)
Have you gotten your VAR involved? This is something right up their alley and they can usually take a look at your computer and settings right through the www.
Mine has been very stable. Only had a few Crashes in the last couple of months and most were on a day I had a lot of work to do. Seemed like Solidworks got tired and didn't want to play. So I did a complete shut down of my machine and no problems since.
Once, I saw this problem, then the fix below.
Update it, reboot, then turn it off, then reinstall SW. Reboot again.
Our virus software is Mcafee Enterprise, which is listed in the approved group. I hope that wouldn't be the problem. It wasn't an issue in previous releases but who knows. I have begun the process of talking to my var but its always frustrating because 9 times out of ten the real answer is " we really don't know" .
