Set options so that surfaces are not knit together and turn off auto repair. Sometimes this helps drag things into SW.
Yes, I tried that and SW crashed.
Check and make default templates are set properly
Our work group uses specific templates and always have used the same ones. I could try and use the canned SW ones.
It was our company's templates. They must be corrupt or out of date. Once I used the SW templates I was able to import.
Sometimes when I import a STEP file the screen somehow loses the origin. I double click the mouse scroll button to center the drawing again. I'm not sure this is what your referring to, but it could help.
I'm having the same issue with UG NX files. Trying the default templates didn't help.
Make a SW file (could be a simple block). Then save that out as UG file. Import back in and see if that works correctly or not?
If that is working then can you post a UG file to check?

I can't find UG as an option to save out. Did you mean Parasolid?
I got my VAR involved this morning and they couldn't open them either.
We have requested either step or parasolid from our customer.

Yes I did meant Parasolid only, sorry for the confusion.
Have you checked what version of NX they are using? Is that compatible with your version of SW?
A parasolid round-trip worked fine with a test file.
We are using 2016 SP4. I believe it is an NX10 file the customer gave us.
