PDM Workgroup 2009 Add-in Problem

Hi all,

I downloaded and installed x64 SW 2009 Premium. I have no PDM workgroup add-in listed, also there is no pdm folder in the program files. I cant find a separate D/L anywhere. Thoughts? Perhaps re-install??? Thanks in advance!

You can do a manual DL. Go to SW DL page, do not use the installer instead, if you read through the short paragraph on that page there is a link at the end that states click "Here". That will take you to the manual DL pages.

I tried that, there is no option to DL PDM add-in. only the full server program. We are still running Workgroup 2008 on the server. is this why 2009 doesnt install? Do i have to have 2009 on the server first? Why wouldnt the add-in at least install ,and then if i try to connect it would say this version is not compatible.

  Sorry, the PDM-Addin is installed through SWE.

    Yeah, it's a little confusing. The 'client" application is installed as part of Solidworks Explorer.

Try going back in and modifying the installation. If I remember correctly 2007 or 2008 started this issue and I don't believe it has been fixed. There should be an option to install the PDM Add-On when you go back to modify the installation.

I have a problem checking back in drawings via Solidworks Explorer. I can't find any option to do that.

You have to install all client software via SolidWorks Explorer - SolidWorks add-ins, standalone Contributor and Vault Admin. Just go to Add/Remove Programs and modify the SolidWorks 2009 installation. During the install, look for the list of products and in there you will see SolidWorks Explorer. Expand that out and you'll see what you need. Also, you can download just the SolidWorks Explorer install via Troy's suggestion in the second post. Run that and you'll see the same options.
