The short answer is yes you can. The long answer is more
complicated. The program is not designed to build general purposes
meshes. It will mesh certain things certain ways and then you can
export the mesh in certain formats. Mold flow direct isn't one of
hem but that doesn't mean you couldn't export it to ANSYS or
NASTRAN and use some facility in MoldFlow to import the mesh.
Chances are better that you can just mesh the model in MoldFlow.
Not sure why you would want to mesh the problem in SWX.
I'll preface that I have never used any part of SW Simulation
- but in the demos I've seen it looks like a far better and quicker
meshing system than anything I have seen. Not only that but you're
meshing native data as opposed to working with translated files.
MoldFlow's mesh capability is pretty good and being the first SIM
software I've ever used I am pretty happy and confident in its
abilities to do what I need. However it still can be time
consuming. Not only repairing mesh once generated to optimize it
for simulation but also just the CPU time in creating it.
I was just looking for yet another option to streamline the whole
process. As it sounds doing the whole thing outside of SW seems to
be the best option.
