New Serial Numbers for the included Visualize Standard 2017

Hi Visualize Community,


If you have SOLIDWORKS CAD Professional or Premium and are on active Subscription, then you receive Visualize Standard for free.


For Visualize 2017 and beyond, an additional serial number is required to activate this complimentary seat of Visualize Standard.



This serial number swap only affects the eligible SOLIDWORKS CAD Professional or Premium on active Subscription who receive the complimentary seat of Visualize Standard, and already activated their free seat of Visualize Standard. If you purchased Visualize Standard outright, then this messaging does not apply to you.


  • From October 19th, 2016, this new additional serial number for eligible users can be found by logging into the SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal and clicking "My Products.” Once you have copied this new Visualize Standard serial number, launch ‘Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features,’ select SOLIDWORKS 2017 <minor version>', and click ‘Change’ at the top. Select 'Modify the individual installation (on this computer)', click on 'Next', expand 'Visualization' and select 'SOLIDWORKS Visualize'. Then, paste in your new serial number and proceed through the Installation Manager to complete the modification.


  • Using your SOLIDWORKS CAD Professional or Premium serial number will no longer activate a complimentary seat of SOLIDWORKS Visualize Standard 2017 and beyond.


  • If you have given this complimentary seat of Visualize Standard to someone else in your company, please send them the new serial number and these instructions so they can continue to access Visualize Standard.
