Options/ customize/ keyboard. Scroll down to set current view as change the shortcuts to what you want. I use the front primarily for flipping assemblies. It may take three or 4 turns to get there depending on if you goof it up. Which I do. But this way I can check my orientation as well of other planes and surfaces. It will update your drawing views as well if you have them done. So what was once up is now down etc.

That's cool. It wasn't quite what I was looking for so I searched a little more and found an answer here: How to Change Orientation of an Existing SolidWorks Part | CATI Tech Notes.
You just open the "view orientation" dialogue box,
set your model to the view you want to rename, hit "update standard views" and click the view icon corresponding to what you want your current view to be named. The above link shows it step by step. Pretty easy, but when I tried to figure it out on my own it was not intuitive.
