I'm trying to design a nose cone for a project boat that I am doing, and was wondering what the best way would be to design this cone?
Something that looks like this:
It's a 25" diameter at the bottom, 48" long from floor to tip and the radius of the knife edge is obviously compound.
I'm just trying to figure out the best way to model something like this so I can get a sheet layout off of it.
Thanks in advance!
Jamal, hard to tell, but it looks like this figure has circular cross sections throughout?
I would probably sketch a side profile first, then do several perpendicular circular sketches (you will probably need to create several reference planes) that represent the cross sections at different spots, with the final cross section being just a point. You can then use a loft feature to join these together.
If there is a remaining cylindrical portion, just use an extrude or revolve for that.
