I am primarily an autocad user. I have been to some introductory Solidworks classes, but I can not figure out how to create a bend that will merge with a radius edge.
Any chance you have a screenshot of something along the lines of what your looking for? Even a snip-it of an ACAD layout would suffice. Just need a little more info as to what you're trying to accomplish. I'm guessing you're thinking sheet metal but there are a lot of "flange" types out there.
I am trying to get a smooth transition between the edge flange and the outside radius of the plate
My first thought would be to make the plate with square ends, and the flange, then cut the profile.
That would actually work very well if the radius needs to follow up into the flange ... I hadn't thought of that.
Have the profile cut as the final feature
Thanks for the help. I was able to get it figured out doing a sketch bend. MLC also told me I could go about it doing it the way you suggested.
I am trying to be more proficient in Solidworks so I really appreciate the help.
Something like this currently what you have ...
To something like this?
Ninja Edit: My bends are a little misleading. The "Trim side bends" does not need to be checked. The key to these is more the tab selection. The first picture is the "Material Inside" tab, the second is the "Bend Outside" tab.
Just wanted to post because I didn't see this answer yet:
This is the option I would recommend using for your edge flange.
