I make fillet welds where necessary on my assembly. now i have some butt welds and V-grove welds to put in so i use the weld bead feature. My fillet welds show up in the design tree and my "weld beads" show up in the weld folder... Can someone explain to me if there is a reason for this? I haven't tried yet, but, will a weld table still populate my fillets even though they aren't in the weld folder? My brain is having a hard time wrapping around this...
nope, drag and drop doesn't work out. I got excited because that's exactly the kind of simple work around I would expect from SW
Not to muddy the waters on this but could you take a screenshot of what you are seeing happening and what you think should be going on with your weldment?
I have very sparingly used the weld bead function much less the weld table, but I think the easiest way to check if your results will be what you want is insert a weld table right into your part to see if it generates the results you are looking for.
as you can see here, my fillet welds and weld beads do not fall out the same. "Weld beads" go directly to the weld folder whereas fillet welds show as features in the design tree. Fillet weld and weld bead are two different features, which I also don't understand.
It's been a long time since I used Weld Beads, did you try to drag them into the folder, no idea on the madness
