With Photoworks on, I can find the appearances I've applied
on the PW tab in the model tree but I don't see such a thing with
PW turned off. How do I find what appearances have been applied to
parts, faces, bodies, etc thru Real View?
Click the double arrows at the top right of the feature
manger. This will slide out the display pane. The display pane will
show you what RV appearnces you have applied and where. Why they
just don't use a version of the PW render manager for RV I don't
know. Seems like it would be easier for the user?
I found that previously but (at least on my system) it gives very
little information. Is it supposed to display an appearance name
when you hover over it? Mine just gives me the model name. In the
RV column...I've got a couple black stacked triangles for the model
that I applied an appearance to and a single gray triangle for the
model using the default plastic. Not very informative to say the
least.
2009 does have more feedback here (the appearnce name pops up
as you describe) so its better although I still wish it worked like
the PW render manager.
You'll have to hover over your colored triangles and right click.
This will bring up a menu with the appearance option. From there
you can open the appearance property manager and make your
edits.
