Hi. I have a piece where when I do a loft cut creates a sharp crease from where the cut beings and the original material meet. I made the guide lines tangent though so I'm not understanding why it's causing a crease

The plane is ok - however, if you want to use solid over the surface, then it's hard to make the transition smooth
I think you'd better back to surface and create ref. surface before converting it to solid - see below image
I offset (0) the surfaces from your solid model to make ref. surface, then I use your sketch to build the surface cut which is tangent to the ref surface - now it's smooth

you have the profiles of the loft cut on the surface, however, the loft surface is not tangent to the surface
I strongly recommend you model your part in surfacing as long as you can before make it a solid since once it's a solid, it's hard to modify without ref. surfaces
