We are trying to put in an attribute to a symbol, which is a description. We would like to word wrap the text if it gets too long.
You mean you want to wrap text around an object?
Should be able to link the text to the custom property, then wrap it up.
2. link to the custom property:
3. Insert Wrap feature of choice:
Here you go!
This is neat, but it is not what we are looking for.
First, we are working in Solidworks Electrical, which changes the game a bit. What we are looking to do is during a symbol creation, we are adding an attribute. We would like to format this attribute to have a fixed width. When the text is larger than this width, we would like to word-wrap so that it feeds to the next line.
I don't believe it is possible to word wrap with Attributes in SolidWorks Electrical.
You can however make use of the Multiple Attribute feature.
If you select this in Edit Symbol tab > Multiple Attribute, set the number of lines it should use and distance then select the attribute.
Now when this attribute is filled up you can use the "|" key to make it use the next line.
A bit of an incomplete workaround but perhaps you could submit this as an enhancement request?
