Hello everyone! Please help me to solve my problem with Corel Draw graphic software.
When I try to open cdr file in Corel Draw i get the following message: An Error: the file couldn't be opened properly.
how to open cdr file without coreldraw?
Try to use the AUDIT command, which you can find right next to the RECOVER command on the File menu. AutoCAD tries to correct any errors. If it useless try this application - CDR Open File Tool
Here the link: https://www.openfiletool.com/cdropen.html
It has been some time since I've used Corel but I do not believe there is a format in which Solid Works will accept. SW is typically looking for an IGES or STEP type file (Para-solid ?) where as Corel typically outputs tiff/jpg format.
As I mentioned though, it's been a while so maybe things have changed ...
Thanks for answer
Vincent,... if the cdr is vector based (most likely is), it will need to be converted to a vector format.
Solidworks can read,.. dwg, dxf, ai, pdf, eps and John mentioned iges (if you have the convertor?)
..otherwise, if the cdr is raster, you can save as a png, bmp, jpg, tiff, gif, psd, wmf... then you can attached the image as a sketch background.
thanks for advice, i shall try to convert to a vector format.
The following are free programs that will read CDR files, but may be limited in the versions of CorelDraw they will accept.
Uniconverter sK1 Project: sK1 2.0 (ex.PrintDesign), sK1, UniConvertor, LinCuttor
I want to say thank you for taking the time to share how to solve my problem.
