Just added a slot mate letting the slot be "free". It centred the hole in the middle of the slot and the part has become fully fixed. Using SW 2016 sp4. Have not had this problem in previous versions 2015 etc. Any one else seen this?
I'm using 2016 SP3 and created my very first slot mate just the other day with no issues and I'm a novice. Are you convinced it's a SP4 issue and not one of your mate settings?
The slot mate works well. I'll bet you have something else constraining your part. With these flexible mates I've found it better to apply them near beginning of the constraint process, rather than near the end. Try suppressing other mates until your slot mate works as it should then you can apply new mates if necessary to keep the slot mate working and properly constrain your system the rest of the way.
Yes, there must be another mate affecting it (or a fixed part?).
In the mate command, look into Advanced Mates or Mechanical Mates.
I think I know what is causing the problem. Will investigate tomorrow. The parts are virtual parts in the assembly. Notmally slot mate works fine. Attached is the assembly.
