Thermal contraction results not symmetrical

I'm finding that when doing a static thermal analysis on even a simple part I'm not getting symmetrical contraction or expansion.  Modeling a simple rod that sees a 100C uniform temperature change gives me displacements from the edge of the rod rather than uniformly from the center axis.  In the included pic I display the (Y-Disp).  The color contours show increasing displacement from one outer edge to the opposite outer edge.  The colors should be symmetrical about the center axis.

Thank you for any help/direction you can give.
