Hello,
I have poured over the Net and through the postings here and don't have a clear answer to the question of whether I can change drawing templates or not.
I have been given a new template, A3, along with a batch of D size drawings with an old temple. Am I trying to accomplish the impossible?
Thanks
John,
Basically what you said but he is changing from D to A3 so not only changing the size of the print but also the drafting standard. Unless they are using ANSI Drafting standard using ISO Sheet sizes?
Richard,
The things you'd need to change are:
Sheet Format
Drafting Standard (if it's changing)
Sheet Scale (If views aren't set to follow Sheet Scale you will need to change views manually)
Position of views, notes, & dimensions.
All in all it shouldn't take too long I'd say about 15 minutes per drawing. Alot quicker than remaking the entire drawing from scratch. Unfortunately there is no quick way to just scale everything views and annotations in one fell swoop in SolidWorks so as John said it's going to take time.
