Are you moving a sketch or body?
which ever one allows me to type a distant. i can drag the body, but coordinate only shows x and y
Is this what you cannot see on the screen when you are in move body command?
I want to center the peg in the hole. I know i can advance mate center (attached), but im learning the move tool.

In fact the mates available in the move body command are not as comprehensive as the ones in the assembly level. However nothing stops us to find a workaround for it. I put it in a short video. Please let me know if it helps.
I understand why there might be limitations to having some of the advanced mates like Limit Dimension/Limit Angle or the Mechanical mates but I'd really like it if I could have Symmetric constraint in Move/Body. So many times I want to center the body about a plane but I cannot and instead have to do these weird offset dimensions.
Btw using SolidWorks 2012 so if they added this ability in later revisions ignore my gripe.

..nah, nothing has changed.. same ole workaround.. (2012sp5 workaround attached).. .(maybe in 2019??)

Select the temporary axis of the cylinder and make it coincident with the plane.
Modify your sketch plane in the Z axis
Could you maybe give some more info or maybe show with pics what you want ?
