Hi, Of course I am novice in Solidworks. Could someone tell me why I can't see the treads after I used the hole wizard to make a 3/8 npt hole and thread.
I can see the hole I made but dont know how to make the threads appeard. Thanks!
As I wrote in other threads ... why?
You can show cosmetic threads, and in 2016 you can use the thread command instead of the hole wizard. But the thread command is only useful for reference or renderings.
if you are like me and have a boss who requires that he see threads on a model then see the pic below:
go to settings> document properties > Detailing> Shaded cosmetic threads. Make sure the Shaded cosmetic threads box is checked.
Also you have to make sure cosmetic thread is checked on your hole wizard feature, see below:
Be sure to check the cosmetic thread box.
Hope it helps.
Wow.... Threads seem to be the BIG bone of contention these days!
Threads about threads are very popular.
BOOM BOOM !
Not my bone I prefer to shut them all off until I save an e-drawing so that way my Boss can see what parts are threaded and which ones are not. Our customers seem t o like to see them too.
Although if i see a part with a counterbore and a part with a hole I am going to assume the hole is threaded. but that is just me.
Just to be clear Paul, I wasn't taking a cheap shot at you in any way, it was a comment directed at the number of posts on threads in the forum lately that seem to be heating up in some cases. No offense intended.
None taken, I have been following them just for some light reading. I find it funny how many people want real threads. I have never seen a need for it other than cosmetically to appease someones visual curiosity.
