In my company we did some projects where we used to link all the design tables present in various components (parts and sub-assemblies) present in main/top assembly to an externally linked master excel file. The master excel file used to be present in local disk and acted as user interface. All other design tables were linked to master excel file. And we used to update individual design tables manually or using macros keeping the master excel file opened  before hand. Doing so had an advantage of full updation of model fro single point. This method had its fair share of advantages as well as disadvantages.

I  wanted examples from people who have done similar work at your level and would share "test / demo models" using that logic. I have seen earlier on forum people sharing same, but unable to find right now.

This I want because I am building my own product configurator based on that logic and would like to see if their models can also be applied to my product configurator.
