I just downloaded 16. I am trying to import a OBJ I keep getting the error " The following file names entered were in valid, not found, locked or of an incompatible type." I went to add-ins and added OBJ . Why am I getting the error?
..obj add-in?.. are you using Scanto3D, Sycode, T-Splines,... (maybe not compatible or license with 2016... 32bit?)
..otherwise, if you don't or if the addin does not work in 2016,.. you will need to convert the obj into a stl or wrl to import..
..suggest using MeshLab http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/
SW 16 has a new OBJ import. I was trying to use it. A client sent me the OBJ file. I cant open it in Rhino to convert it.
Ill take a look at meshlab.
Sheri,.. what version do you have?... standard, professional or premium?...
..and, can you please show a screen shot of the obj addin?
IT WORKED!! I just tried again and it opened them!
Here is the screen of the add in in SW16
I had the same problem and came here looking for the answer. I had JUST opened an OBJ that I had created and it opened fine. Then trying to open a second one, I got the error. I tried to open the original one that I opened before and got the error. Re-started SolidWorks and they both opened. I hate bugs like this!
