Is it possible to link other SolidWorks documents to the Electrical Project M
anager using the Table of Contents?
Well the others might have better options, but I can only think of 2 ways...
1. Create a blank drawing with the name you want as a placeholder in electrical to create the line item in the table of contents. Write the table, then delete the drawing.
2. Explode the table and manually edit.
if you're auto-generating your drawing list / table of contents, I don' t know if electrical will talk to 3D SolidWorks like that.
But, 3D models can be associated in the other direction using the "SOLIDWORKS Cabinet Layout" button under 'Process'.
Also, 2D drawings can be pulled into projects FROM 3D SolidWorks using the "Create Project Drawing" command in the Electrical tab.
Yes - my bad - I didn't describe my question correctly. If I have a SolidWorks drawing, can I somehow link it to my SolidWorks Electrical project sheets using the existing Table of Contents?
For example: Wiring Schematic, System Layout, Application Drawing -- with the application drawing being done in standard SolidWorks, while using SolidWorks Electrical for the other categories - but link them all together with a Table of Contents?
Currently I *.pdf my electrical project, and *.pdf my application drawing separately --> then combine them into one document as the total project. I would like to have them all together and *.pdf them in one operation.
